Raaheela Ahmed: Lessons Learned in School Board activities

State legislation indirectly diluted the elective power of Prince George's county School Board members. Since being elected to the Board of Education for District 5, representing 80,000 residents, Raaheela Ahmed has observed and participated in the deliberations about the schools in our County. Here, she recounts some of the good--and bad--decisions that took place, and the attempt to remediate that with more recent legislation.
